Project information
TEDxAlgomaU was an independently organized TED event that brought together speakers from Northern Ontario to share their unique and unconventional roads to success. Our Lead Illustrator and Creative Director collaborated with Nirosha Murugan to craft the event’s poster with a mission to embody their event theme “free your genius.” The poster was featured as a statement piece, and it helped to generate excitement and anticipation for the event.
“This student-organized event was a resounding success, selling out within days of ticket sales opening.” ~ Algoma University https://algomau.ca/news/tedxalgomau-free-your-genius-a-resounding-success/ The poster was created through a collaborative process between our creative director and Nirosha. We carefully refined multiple designs until we successfully translated Nirosha’s innovative vision. The final design is both simple and powerful. The iconic ‘x’ in TEDx, representing independently organized events, metamorphosed into a delicate origami bird leaving the cage of convention, and symbolizing the liberation of genius.
Our Contribution to this Project includes:
- A unique and conceptual illustration that conveyed the event's mission and values.
- A poster design that was both creative and informative, and that accurately reflected the event's theme.
- Several iterations of the illustrative design to match the vision of the event coodinators
